Haika is a marketing manager of JUJOJALI juice processing company, her personal efforts contributes 50% of company sales turnover every year. On other side she might be described as an overly aggressive leader but she is highly skilled technically and very valuable to the company. Many who have worked for her respect her competence but view her as a bully. Johana is honest and highly principled though many people feel she lack integrity specifically because of the harsh and disrespectful way she treats her employees and peers. While her confidence seems high, she does not work to create confidence in others. She often loses her temper in public, at times with her supervisors and peers, but most often with her direct reports. She always thinks her way is the right way and the only way to get results. Her behavior often doesn`t  get results as people don`t  want to work for her because of her emotional outburst. Information is always withheld from her( problem with a customer on defect product etc) until situation reaches crisis proportions. No one want to be a messenger of bad news for fear of her reaction. On the other hand Johana feels responsible for the success of the company and the success of each project she is involved in. She works long and hard to insure every job is successfully accomplished. She is courageous and unafraid to stand up to her superiors if she thinks a particular decision may be harmful to the company. She is one of the few executives that can think in term of company -wide process-how product are developed and readied for market, how customers are acquired and satisfied and how orders are obtained and delivered. She has an enviable knowledge of agribusiness and industry; it would be of great value to the company if she could build and maintain relationships both inside and outside the company.

  1. Based on the account above mention what HAIKA lacks as a leader
  2. Imagine that you are Haika`s supervisor and she works under you, explain the approach and steps you will use to handle Johana situation with regard to continue retaining her potential values and correct her weekness for the company benefit.
