.A.The following are the effect of poor waste disposal.,

Poor waste disposal has many effects , that range from environmental as well as the living organisms. The following are among the effects of poor waste disposal:

  Water pollution: Poorly disposed waste materials may contaminate surface water, (water bodies like lakes, rivers etc.)  which make water unsafe to used and this kills organisms that obtain habitat in water bodies.

   Land pollution: Some solid and liquid wastes  ( chemical substances), leads to change in soil characteristics which affects the soil productivity (agricultural) and loss of different species of organisms living on/ in soil.

   Air pollution: Most of waste products stinks , if poorly disposed they cause bad smells over the area leading to air pollution.

   Eruption of diseases: Poor waste disposal leads to eruption of diseases like cholera, typhoid and other many infectious diseases.

   Therefore  among the effects of poor waste disposal are water pollution, air pollution , land/ soil pollution and eruption of diseases.

 

B.Proper ways of waste disposal,

  1. Incineration: Is the method of waste treatment that involve waste combustion.
  2. Recycling: Is the process of turning waste materials into new useful products.
  3. Compositing: Is the process of harnesting the natural decay of waste materials especially organic wastes
  4. Landfills: Is the method of waste disposal in which wastes are treated by burying them.
