Explain why plant cells do not burst in pure water

Plant cells do not burst in pure water due to the following reason.

Plant cells are surrounded by cellulose walls. When placed in pure water , plant cells  take in water by osmosis just like animal cells, but  plant cells do not burst because the cellulose cell walls control the amount of water that is taken in, by  exerting  a  pressure called turgor pressure, as the cells absorb water.

The reason as to why animal cells burst in pure water is:

When an animal cell is placed in pure water, water will pass into the cell by osmosis. This leads to the swelling of the cell. Since an animal cell have no cell wall to control the intake of water , the cell keep swelling until it bursts!
